Berlin, media hotspot
The capital city and the Brandenburg region have developed in recent years into one of the most important media locations in Germany. More than 140,000 people are employed in 15,000 media and communication companies.
The Berlin-Brandenburg region has the greatest creative potential of all the states and offers a unique mix of the branches: Film & TV, games and Web 2.0, news and music, communication and PR, and an interesting radio and newspaper market.
Axel Springer AG, Sat.1, N24, Universal Music, MTV and Viva have chosen Berlin for their company headquarters. Brandenburg and Berlin boast the greatest concentration of national and international radio stations and are regarded as the strongest publishing region in Germany.
Berlin is host to many important media events: the music trade fair popkomm, award ceremonies such as the German & European Film Prize, the Golden Camera and the Echo. The highlight is the international film festival, “Berlinale”.
In short, Berlin is the international capital of the young, creative scene and the next generation.
