Service Design
Services are a huge and expanding market. A service can be a lot of things, like using a library or staying at a hotel. Being treated by a doctor can be seen as a service delivery. It is common knowledge that a lot of services can be enhanced and developed or even invented from scratch. Many products today rely on the services connected to them. The success of a service, to add value to the company, relies on a positive customer experience. This is where Service Designers step in. Students specialising in Service Design learn methods and tools to analyse, improve or create, implement and test a specific service. Corresponding with the idea of Design Thinking, people from diverse professional backgrounds can become successful service designers. Graduates will be experts in deep design research, co-creation with users, prototyping of interactions and in how to make a service good. In essence, Service Designers make things a little better.
