Facts


The Macromedia University for Media and Communication (MHMK) was founded as a private University of Applied Sciences by decree of the Bavarian State Ministry for Sciences, Research and the Arts from 27/3/2006 pursuant to Art. 108(1) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (Bayerisches Hochschulgesetz). The courses on offer include four full-time Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) courses and 2 postgraduate Master’s Degree courses. All courses have been accredited by FIBAA or Acquin.

                                                   
The university is funded by Macromedia GmbH, which was founded in 1993 and specialises in training and further education in the field of media. The founder and director of the company, Herbert Schmid-Eickhoff, is today the president of MHMK. Sabine Terjung is one of the company managers and a member of the University Board. Joachim Scheuer is the Registrar. Professor Jürgen Faust has been Dean of the Media Faculty since 2008. Macromedia GmbH has offices in Munich, Stuttgart, Cologne, Osnabrück, Hamburg and Berlin, where it employs 173 full-time staff and about 400 freelance staff.
