Die Hochschule Macromedia ist Gastgeber für die Jahrestagung 2023 der CEEGS (Central and Eastern European Game Studies conference).

Das Thema der englischsprachigen Konferenz lautet:

„Meaning and Making of Games – New Challenges at the Intersection of Game Studies and Game Design“

Keynote-Speaker sind:

  • Jana Stadeler: Jana is an experienced game and narrative designer from Germany who specialises in world building for video games. She is particularly interested in in the intersection between gameplay and storytelling and has brought her expertise to works such as the award-winning Horizon: Forbidden West (Guerrilla Games, 2022) where she found her niche as a game developer to design and populate virtual cities and their cultures.
  • Víctor Navarro-Remesal: Víctor Navarro-Remesal is a game scholar from Tecnocampus, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). He is a founding member of DiGRA Spain and the co-president of the History of Games conferences. His last book as an editor is ‘Perspectives on the European Videogame’ (Amsterdam University Press, 2021). His research interests include player freedom, Zen-inspired games and slow gaming, regional game studies, and game preservation. Currently, he’s one of the two Principal Investigators of the project Ludomythologies: Myths and ideology in contemporary video games.
  • Charlene Putney: Charlene Putney is an award-winning writer (Divinity: Original Sin 2) and teacher from Ireland. She’s currently setting up a start-up with her partner Martin Pichlmair to make machine learning more accessible and fun for writers: take a look at www.writewithlaika.com. She also teaches interactive fiction at university level and yoga on Tuesday evenings. Say hi to @alphachar!
