After New York City: Macromedia Study Week expands to London & Paris

For the third time, Master’s students from Macromedia University are starting a study week in New York City. Accompanied by University President Prof. Dr. Dr Castulus Kolo and Vice President Prof. Ute Masur, Macromedia students are taking part in:

  • sessions with outstanding professors from Fordham University and the Gabelli School of Business,
  • workshops with industry partners such as Google and NBC Universal, and
  • enjoying cultural highlights such as a blues workshop at Lincoln Center.

The programme includes the curricular module “Leadership and Entrepreneurial Thinking“, in which the students can successfully complete at the end of the week with an oral examination and an additional certificate from Fordham University.

The response to this optional, fee-based offer has been consistently high since its introduction in 2019, with master’s students from all Macromedia campuses and all three Macromedia master’s programmes taking part. That is why the university is now launching additional study weeks for the Master’s modules: “Strategy & Innovation Processes” and “Foresight and Global Trends”. Institutional partners are the Paris School of Business and Regent’s University in London, both sister universities of Macromedia in the international Galileo group. The academic direction lies with the deans of the Macromedia University, Prof. Dr. Joschka Mutterlein (Paris) and Prof. Dr. Florian Haumer (London).

Registrations for the Study Week in Paris in autumn 2023 and the Study Week in London in spring 2024 are still possible. Master’s students can find information about the Study Week Abroad options.”The holistic learning experience is characteristic of the Macromedia Study Week,” says Prof. Dr. Dr Castulus Kolo. With his own international research and involvement in the global scientific community, he is the initiator and driving force behind the Study Week Abroad.

“Central aspects are: the special discourse culture of the foreign universities, the rousing spirit of the industrial partners and the interdisciplinary exchange within their own group. In addition, there is the vibrant environment of the international metropolis – these are strong impressions for our students, there is a lot going on.”

Johanna Mayer, Master’s graduate from the Munich campus and now working as a CRM Specialist for Samsung Electronics in Stockholm, put it this way after participating in Study Week 2022: “The New York Study Week was by far my highlight for my Master’s at Macromedia. Inspiring faculty and fellow students in a stunning city and renowned university. A great experience for my personal and professional development.”
