Macromedia University strongly condemns Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
We are witnessing a blatant violation of international law that we would not have thought possible. The situation is unbearable. Civilians are dying, families are fleeing. Mortal fear is driving them from their apartments and houses.
Our solidarity is with the people of Ukraine, our Ukrainian students, staff and their families.
But Putin’s war is also an attack against Russian civil society, which will also suffer from the war.
Being an institution with an international character, we must not allow ourselves to be divided by the actions of an autocrat.
Our appeal goes to the Russian president to restore peace in Europe. Peace and political stability are prerequisites for free exchange, also in the sciences, and the basis for education and prosperity worldwide.
