DAAD Lecture: On Networks and Power

As part of the lecture series sponsored by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), the renowned network researcher Prof. Keith Hunter from the University of San Francisco spoke about “Networks, Perception and Power”. Students from the Freiburg Campus and the Berlin Campus of the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences attendet.

Prof. Keith Hunter spoke about the importance of networks, influencers and power structures as well as the influence of “trust” within networks. This resulted in an exciting discussion with the international students.

Prof. Dr. Timo Becker from the Freiburg Campus and Prof. Dr. Gernot Wolfram from the Berlin Campus, who organized the lecture, drew a positive balance of the lecture: “The research orientation of the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences means for us. to seek the connection to international research discourses and to take up important impulses especially in network research. The nationwide DAAD Lecture was a wonderful example of how this can succeed. Network discourses can best unfold where networks already represent a reality in research and teaching as well.”

The exchange with the University of San Francisco is to be continued.
