Macromedia Meets FASHION REVOLUTION: Businesses in Need of Sustainable Strategies

Inspiring live talk at Campus Berlin: On November 14, Macromedia-alumna Nora Vehling, Country Coordinator of global FASHION REVOLUTION movement in Germany, will discuss the question ‘Do we need a fashion revolution to survive?’ at Macromedia Berlin. The open lecture is hosted by marketing expert Prof. Dr. Brigitte Kleinselbeck.

Fashion industry has gained much attention with respect to sustainability. The discussion is focusing on the importance for fashion businesses to come up with reliable strategies of how they intend to prevent environmental damage they cause, how they are aiming at saving natural resources in the future, and how they will manage human rights in their supply chains.

Open Lecture: Do we need a fashion revolution to survive?

On November 14, from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm, Nora Vehling, Macromedia alumna, Country Coordinator of the global FASHION REVOLUTION movement in Germany, and part of  the "Wir sind Humboldt" campaign, the awarded sustainability office at Humboldt University, will hold an open lecture on the topic „Do we need a fashion revolution to survive?“. In her lecture, Nora wants to build awareness towards the dangers of fast fashion, call for more transparency in global fashion production, and introduce the global #whomademyclothes campaigns.

First hand experience to build competencies

Local Head of Business Faculty, Prof. Dr. Brigitte Kleinselbeck, is pleased about the visit : "It is wonderful to have graduates share their experiences with us. In our study programs Fashion Management and Fashion Design, sustainability plays an increasingly important role. Nora will share her first hand experiences as climate activist. She is a strong networker and knows fashion leaders just as much as the obstacles when it comes to change strategies. Her live talk will strengthen our students’ competencies"
