Prof. Dr. Arthur Hofer has been teaching media economics at Macromedia University’s Munich campus since 2006. After studying business administration and communication sciences at the Universities of Tübingen and Erlangen-Nuremberg, he earned his doctorate with a thesis on the production processes of journalistic statements at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich. Following his doctorate, he was a member of the management board at Bavaria Film, among other positions.
He is the founder and managing director of the Bavarian Film Centre Geiselgasteig and was managing director of Studio Babelsberg, Babelsberg Independents and Babelsberg Film, where he also worked as a producer. As artistic director and managing director of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, he initiated and founded the German-French Film Academy (now Atelier Ludwigsburg–Paris) and the Children’s Film House Ludwigsburg. He was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Stuttgart Film Festival.
In addition to his teaching activities, he is chairman of the Macromedia Community e.V. support association, chairman of the Entrepreneurship Commission and honorary senator of Macromedia University.
