Background of Lars Grau

Prof. Grau studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt and Industrial Design at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. Today, with more than 15 years of professional experience of lecturing and designer, he focuses specifically on the user-centric design of intuitive interactions. Since 2011, he has run MOKIK, a Berlin-based User Experience Design Agency he founded that is dedicated to designing holistic user experiences for mobile and web applications, digital television and interaction in the space.

His particular passion is for developing innovative digital systems that sit at the interface between strategy, concept, design and technology. For several years now, he has been heavily involved with “Smart Home”, “Connected Car” and “Connected Retail” technologies.

He is a regular speaker and jury member at the German Design Club’s (DDC), annual “Gute Gestaltung” award of the as well as a member of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) and the Interaction Design Association (IXDA).
