Macromedia's Start-up Community: Exciting lectures on failure & AI

Still in 2021, Macromedia’s  Start-up Community welcomed two exciting professionals in their event series.

Valentin Vollmer, CEO of „Talenthelden /Talent Heroes” delivered an amazing speech about learning from failure. In a very intense and lively manner he showed the Macromedia Students, how to fail and stand up over and over and to LEARN from failure.

Vollmer conveyed how he had once worked in a large corporate culture at Siemens and how he turned away from that in order to follow his passion and create his own business from scratch.

At another occasion, Tom Becker joined the Macrosphere event. Being VP EMEA KNIME today, he did an inspirational talk about the power of analytics. To him, data and data literacy are key factors for any future business success. Therefore his advice to the Macromedia students was very bold: follow your passion – but don’t forget to add AI to it.

And sure KNIME could serve as a blue print for that advice: the company developed from a university group in 2004, to the first software release in 2006, to a software platform used in over 60 countries by today.

Thank you both for sharing your insights with our students.

The Macromedia Startup community was founded by Prof. Arther Hofer, Prof. Mo Badr, and Mr. Alexander Roth. The community aims to establish an entrepreneurial culture within Macromedia and encourage students to realize their ideas. during the past year, the management team succeeded in bringing various industry experts from various specializations including, Tech, mobility, venture capitals, and others as members of the community to support and coach our students to realize their ideas.”
