Full speed ahead – Macromedia University students develop market analysis and sales concept for Motomar International.

In the winter semester 2021/22, more than 40 students from the Munich campus cooperated with the Italian motorboat specialist Motomar International from Lake Garda. The interdisciplinary student teams analyzed potential target markets and developed a concept for new customer business. The project was led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Badr, Head of Faculty and Professor of Media and Communication Management. The team of lecturers also included Simone Kohler and Carsten Bickhoff.

Motomar International SRL has its headquarters at the southern tip of Lake Garda. The traditional company has established itself as a full-service provider for all aspects of motorboats. Its services include not only on-site repairs, but also professional wintering of the boats of returning vacationers, as well as interior finishing and restoration.

The practical project of the Macromedia focused on two core areas: a comprehensive market analysis with the identification of possible potentials in individual regions and subsequently the elaboration of a strategic approach as well as recommendations and ideas for the continuous expansion of brand awareness. Several teams of students from the Macromedia University were assigned to the project. While some of the Master’s students focused on the analysis and resulting opportunities, students from the Bachelor’s program focused on the development and elaboration of concrete campaigns for lead generation. Working in several teams resulted in not just one approach, but several different concepts and, above all, very different approaches to ideas, but all pursuing the same overarching goal.
