Sport moves the masses – not only at the mega-events of international professional sport. Local amateur sport also mobilizes people, offers emotionality and lasting identification – and thus has highly interesting stories for media makers. As part of a practical cooperation under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mo Badr and Max Hoepner, students of Macromedia University have developed ideas for the amateur sports channel YOUSPORT of Munich-based media house ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
Extension of the live experience: YOUSPORT offers stage for amateur sport
Extending the fascination and emotionality of amateur sport through the media – this is the goal of the YOUSPORT start-up from the 7Sports division of the P7S1 Group. One focus of the cross-media platform is user-generated content. In order to mobilize new video reporters, programme managers are constantly looking for innovative, user-oriented formats.
Macromedia University: Experts for media usage and topic preferences
For one semester, students at Macromedia University were sparring partners of the programme managers. Their task was to create image films, teasers and content for the 7Sports App YouSport. The presentation took place in the Munich headquarters of ProSiebenSat 1, where the students were able to take a look behind the scenes of a 7Sports TV production. The media company used the winning pitch to increase awareness of the app in YouSport’s social media.
