But does system quality ensure the quality of the study experience? Only to a certain extent. That is why Macromedia University of Applied Sciences regularly participates in external evaluations. Above all, they are intended to give prospective students an independent impression of the study experience at Macromedia University.
An international comparison is provided by U-Multirank, an international, independent, and web-based initiative from the European Commission that evaluates universities of applied sciences as well as universities. With the evaluation of more than 1,700 universities from over 90 countries, U-Multirank is one of the most comprehensive and detailed evaluation programmes for universities worldwide.
A nationwide evaluation is provided by the CHE University Ranking. The non-profit CHE Centre for Higher Education Development (German: Center für Hochschulentwicklung) has been compiling systematic information on degree programmes, departments, universities, and their locations every year since 1998. Since 2005, the CHE Ranking has been published in cooperation with the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT.
The Gründungsradar examines and compares the quality of start-up support at German institutions of higher education (HEIs). Moreover, it underlines the important role HEIs play in harnessing innovation and portrays their efforts to foster a dynamic environment conducive to start-ups. Overall, just under 60 per cent of higher education institutions in Germany take part in the survey, which accounts for about four-fifths of all enrolled students. Participating HEIs include almost all HEIs that place significance on the issue of start-ups. The Gründungsradar thus provides a solid data-based foundation for start-up activity and support at German institutions of higher education.
